Minchinhampton Parish Council

Serving the people of Minchinhampton

Clerk: Ms Jo Barber
The Trap House, West End
Minchinhampton, Gloucester

Cllr Roy Nicholas

Cllr Roy Nicholas

Roy Nicholas is the longest serving member of the parish council, having served continuously for 50 years, during which time he was chairman consecutively for 18 of them.
In addition, during this time he has represented the parish as a county and district councillor as well. Whilst a member of the Stroud District Council he was chairman of that council and chairman of its Planning and Development Control Committee.

During this time he has gained a great knowledge of local government and finds it a privilege to dissipate his knowledge at parish council meetings.
Planning has been his forte and as such he is particularly keen to see that all planning applications conform with what we in the parish of Minchinhampton see as not spoiling the environment or our heritage which we are privileged to enjoy.
People have been his life, being for many years the personnel manager of one of our local firms, he champions the cause of those who might otherwise be put on and endeavors to see fair play for all.
