Cllr Steve Hemmings

Born in Norfolk, Steve Hemmings has lived in Box since 1977 and has loved every minute of it. He currently serves as Vice Chairman of Box Village Hall Management Committee and is a member of Box Village Society.

Steve joined Minchinhampton Parish Council (MPC) in 2011 as the councillor for Box ward and, having by then retired, his life long background in Information Technology has been utilised in advising Minchinhampton Parish Council in all matters technical such as the upgrading of their computer systems, managing the Vodafone Open Sure Signal project bringing Vodafone mobile phone reception to Minchinhampton town centre and the creation of MPC's web site. He also lead the project to acquire Box Wood and put it into public ownership and is the chairman of Box Community Wood, the charity that now owns Box Wood on behalf of the community.

Steve is a self-confessed "foodie" (when affordable) and supporter of local businesses. He would like to see Minchinhampton and its parish grow to offer the same attractive food and shopping facilities as have emerged in Nailsworth and the surrounding district.
